About the seminar
Legal requirements and their implications
The Energy Efficiency Act (EnEfG) stipulates that data centers with a capacity of over 300kW and IT operators from 500kW must set up their own energy management system. This also applies to colocation customers. Instead of the previous private-sector certification, a state validation body will also be introduced in the future. This requires the submission of annual reports by March 31 of the following year at the latest. This regulation comes into force from 01.01.2025, which is why companies should start implementing it at least a year in advance.
In addition, we will also cover the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) 2022, which represents another important milestone in the data center industry. You will learn how to transparently and comparably present your data center's sustainability goals.
Certification at the European level:
Another focus of the seminar is certification on sustainability at the European level. In particular, we will address the uniform and binding EU standard developed by the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group (EFRAG). This standard will play a decisive role for data centers in Europe in the near future.
Choosing the right sustainability initiatives:
In general, choosing the right sustainability initiatives, considering the opportunities and risks for the respective project, is one of the most important disciplines for DC operators in the future. Decision-makers and stakeholders need orientation and appropriate evaluation tools. This is due to the numerous demands from the EnEfG, CSRD, and also the customers that one must meet.
Practical solutions for your company:
By participating in this seminar, you will be well-prepared to align your data center with current and future sustainability and climate neutrality requirements. You will not only receive theoretical knowledge but also practical solutions that you can directly implement in your company.
